I did not comment in the thread because I considered it may have been a misquote as it seemed like something that Pete Buttigieg, the man, would never think or say.

Lots of apologies needed. Have a nice day.

Interesting that Joy Reid and Julian Castro and Malcolm Nance and so many others are...fill in the blank. Lots of non-apologies.

"This one really hurts because it went viral,” he continued, going on to post Buttigieg’s full remarks, corrected."

From the reporter. Well, golly! You'd think there was this 24/7 social media shit storm that has no bottom in it's destructiveness or hate.

believe what a reporter wrote? And nowadays we know there are a lot of people out there with agendas, and that includes a lot of people in the media.

We go back to "think before you act". Nowadays we have to be careful to repeat stories without checking their truthfulness, so yes, people should apologize for taking the opportunity to go against one of the Democratic candidates who may not be their choice.

He is staking the "moderate" ground to an extent, but he really does go at Rs more directly and indirectly (and stakes a lot more progressive positions) than people give him credit for, and to me he speaks about the real, difference making institutional change we need, which includes going directly at the ways Rs are rat fucking this country.

Side note - I am OK with Joe, and if I had to put $$$ on the race would put it on him. He's a good man, is our best shot at reclaiming some of our international good will because he is a known, reliable and proven entity to other world leaders, and is a good and decent man who has a broader appeal than some of our other candidates.

I would prefer someone who is sharper and more aggressively progressive, but I know the people around me in this country and know who votes and that he will have a real appeal to those who actually show up to vote.

More than likely Pete will figure prominently in future races, and maybe by then he'll be Senator Pete or Governor Pete. I'd like to see him actively motivating the blue/liberal/progressive voters of the Midwestern states, our breadbasket and industrial rust-belt states. He has already shown the ability to excite the new/younger voters that we desperately need to revitalize our Party.
