Which of these 2020 Democrats agrees with you most? (interactive quiz)

Washington Post

Wednesday’s Democratic debate will feature 10 candidates, each attempting to persuade the public that theirs is the best vision for the country. During the 2020 primary, The Washington Post has asked each Democratic candidate where they stand on more than 70 policy questions.

Now, it’s your turn to answer. Below are 10 questions we found particularly interesting, mostly because they reveal big differences between the candidates. We haven’t asked the campaigns about every topic, but this selection tries to cover a wide range of issues. Answer as many as you like.

I matched Buttigieg on 8/10

If you believe private insurance should be eliminated you have one answer; if not you have the other.

I believe that eventually private insurance will be eliminated if we have a good public option that private insurers cannot or will not compete with. That is not a yes or no answer to the question. Trying to just eliminate it, would result in a loss of many votes and total chaos in the health care system.

My goal is universal health care. I'll get behind whatever it takes for us to get there. Whether we keep private insurance is not a deal breaker for me.

I ended up selecting "eliminate private health insurance" because if we were creating a health care system from scratch I don't think private health insurance adds any value in a universal healthcare system.

But we are not creating a system from scratch, and the truth is that there is basically zero chance that we would eliminate private health insurance. If that's what it takes to get universal health care I'm fine with that.

If there were a "don't feel strongly either way" option I would have selected it.

if you are choosing a friend, but picking a president is about a lot more than policy answers. Competence, intelligence, experience, character, integrity, etc. Also the ability to choose cabinets members who are knowledgeable, trustworthy, and capable. Presidents change while in office and as such so do policies - of course, there are exceptions, as we see in the White House today.

It clearly shows where the candidates stand on the issues. For me, Warren got the highest score of 10 and Biden got the lowest of 1 . I sure hope he’s not the nominee.
