I live in Oregon. I think I am a little more left than center and I will plug my nose and hold a gag bag if I have to vote for one in the GE. Imagine how the Midwest feels.

They think the choice is socialism or democracy/capitalism. The choice is closer to socialism v. dictatorship, and we have so many pseudoAmericans, they'd probably choose dictatorship.
