Related: About this forumSorry, Joe - there were many reasons Obama picked you as his running mate
But your "long-standing relationship" with the black community probably wasn't among the top 10 of them.

(6,280 posts)Which means you don't know whether it was one of the reasons or not. If you want to remove the word probably from your statement, then of course you must be able to prove it as fact. The word probably means you are guessing, and the removal of the word probably means it is incumbent upon you to prove it as fact.

(18,486 posts)And no - Biden saying so isn't proof.
If you don't have any proof, you're in no position to complain that anyone else is guessing that he's wrong since you yourself are simply guessing, without proof, that he's right.

(6,280 posts)I haven't claimed that he did or didn't. I don't have to prove anything. I simply pointed out that's your claim is nothing more than a personal opinion, and has no basis in fact.

(6,280 posts)So did you. What proof do you have that Obama did not take Joe Biden's standing with the black community into consideration? A statement to that effect from Barack Obama? ESP? I would assume that there were more important reasons why Obama chose Joe Biden than his standing with the black community. I would venture a guess there were at least two or three reasons that took precedence, so how do you know that Joe Biden's standing in the black community was not one of the remaining seven reasons in your top 10? Do you know, or are you guessing?
