Democratic establishment reaches boiling point with Tulsi Gabbard

Politico

Tulsi Gabbard trashed the Democratic Party as “not the party that is of, by and for the people,” accused Kamala Harris of trafficking in “lies and smears and innuendo” and attacked Pete Buttigieg as naive.

Her performance at Wednesday’s debate earned an attaboy from the Trump War Room. And some rank-and-file Democrats are at wit's end with the congresswoman who Hillary Clinton called “the favorite of the Russians.”

“The question is whether she seriously hopes to be the nominee or if she has another agenda … her attacks on other candidates and her positions on issues seem very personal, not so much about a set of policies or worldview,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.). Bernie Sanders has “a coherent set of principles. Elizabeth Warren’s the same. I don’t perceive a fixed set of principles or worldview on her part.”

Demonstrating how divisive her campaign has become, the Trump War Room tweeted out a video clip of Gabbard attacking her own party with a “100” emoji. It received 4,500 retweets and 15,000 likes.

is OK with some folks. Right? (2016?) Let's just burn it all down and start over.

I have to agree with Blumenthal .. the problem here is that there IS no coherent agenda or world view .. this is just running around poking sticks at people.

If there is anyone who needs to look themselves in the mirror, it is Gabbard. Her words and behaviors may just come back and bite her. She must decide what tenets she believes in and how they identify with the Democratic Party.

glibly espousing many popular progressive positions to gain credibility, then shoving the knife into the Democrats for not meeting her high standards of purity. Haven't we seen this several times before, and isn't this how outside forces sow seeds of division?

To engage in the hyperbole she has is so over the top that it is almost as if she's breaking up with the party.

There is a caveat here. It is said that dissent is the highest form of patriotism, and we must not toss the proverbial baby out with the bathwater.

In other words, if the Democratic Party does something with which I disagree, you can be assured I will be talking about it, writing about it, raising the issue in meetings with local Democrats and so on. That is OK.

Destructive criticism, such as that forwarded by Gabbard, is not OK, but rather is divisive.

She may well run as a third party candidate.

And her attack style is very reminiscent of other female RepubliCONS.

She sure doesn't act like a Democratic leader. Reminds me of that sniveling Lieberman.

I think she's angling for a spot on FAUX Noise as the resident "democrat". If not for republican donations and poll support she would have been long gone from the presidential debates.

primary today, I would vote for:
