(34,169 posts)And I don't see much evidence that he could during Obama/Biden's second term, either.
He might have had this mojo at one point, but either his game isn't up to par or their resistance is too much (or both).

I dont think they have the respect they may have had for him at one time (if ever).
If they did, this ridiculous Graham stunt would be slapped down.
Unfortunately, I dont see that they are in the least worried about Biden.

(68,552 posts)There are opportunities in certain areas, conviction in the Senate isn't one...and as you know Graham has opened up an investigation into Biden at Trump's behest...you know this nastiness towards Biden saddens me...the only thing we should care about at this point is getting rid of Trump.

(297,154 posts)one crap how many 0 points she gives Joe Biden.. she's made it clear in the past what she thinks of Biden.
Exactly Dems.. everyone should be on board with Biden against trump manufacturing shite against him with Graham's or anyone else's collusion. This is the damn reason trump got himself Impeachment hearings in the HOUSE.
But, noooo.. the OP is laying this shit on Joe Biden.

(25,464 posts)Assuming that nothing will ever pass because bipartisanship is impossible is rather misguided, as is the assumption many make that a post-Trump Congress will function exactly the same as the current one.
If a few high-profile GOP senators were to get knocked off in 2020 as a result of their attachment to Trump and Trump gets ousted, all bets are off.

(2,061 posts)By Schumer. I would hope the others have been in contact with Schumer. How Republicans break will be determined by the optics of the inquiry and trial. If a number of Republicans vote for conviction then I bet some of them are already talking behind the scene. The last thing they will want is for a democratic primary candidate to be able to take credit for their change of heart.

(90,645 posts)My takeaway: Joe Biden is a kind hearted man and an optimist, but he is no fool. He's very angry at Lindsey and will never trust him again.
As for the rest of the GOP -- first Trump has to go, and then we'll see. Not "all is forgiven, please come home," but we'll see how they do. Elect Democrats overall, not just the POTUS.

(68,552 posts)nothing good until Trump is gone and maybe not even then. Romney was willing to kill thousands of people by ending the ACA on day one if he defeated Trump which he did not thank God. And what he did while working in Equities in Ohio and other places was horrible and disgraceful; he hurt many people. I don't like Romney and don't consider him to have much if any good in him.

(8,144 posts)that quality was not in evidence when she faced protestors recently. Biden has shown leadership throughout his career. Furthermore, he has shown courage in his personal life, which has encouraged many across America. The OP need not erect silly tests for Biden.
Of all the candidates, he has been tested at the highest level, a heart-beat away from the presidency.
Apparently he met the challenge.

If democrats don't control congress after 2020 and Biden wins the presidency, we'll see a series of acquiescence to republican demands.
