saw how many of the Black Voters thought of him.. and was so grateful when I read that they do!

During the last Democratic debate U.S. Sen. Cory Booker went after Biden, saying that his position on marijuana legalization showed that he was out of touch with the black community.

Gibson, however, did not agree with that.

“I understand he’s not an African American, everybody understands that part,” Gibson said. “That doesn’t mean he cannot be communicative and be focused on issues that impact certain African American communities."

"You don’t have to be an African American to have an understanding of what folks go through," she said.

Wow.. Booker's shot there didn't work with State Senator Audrey Gibson(FL-Dem)... anyway!

Mahalo, Skya!

As a country, we're hanging by our fingernails. Winning in 2020 is everything and to win we need to concentrate on our most dependable voters and the electoral map. The candidate with the widest appeal and reach in the former Rust Belt and in states like Arizona and Florida has the mojo to win it all--the WH and provide the coat tails to ensure the House and (if the gods are smiling) even the Senate.

Joe Biden has that reach and appeal. That's why I support him.

ovation, unfortunately not on prime time, about Dems taking AA voters for granted. Seeing this again. Never mind they will go along, no other option, if X or Y gets early primaries, they mwill follow.

Biden has made mistakes, and evolved, but one thing is clear: civil rights, equality, has always been a part of his agenda, the motivation for his getting into politics.

Although Biden’s support is predominantly from older voters, we should not discount their wisdom in valuing experience and proven political know-how over untested ability,

Oliver Davis, former president and vice-president of the South Bend, Indiana council, spoke to his endorsement of Biden:

“In times like these, when the political winds are fiercely blowing across our country, it's important for us to have an experienced leader who has been through the diverse storms of life to guide our country. That's why I am very pleased to support Vice President Joe Biden to be our next President of the United States of America.”

More of Davis’s thinking:

Snip—————————————

Davis was impressed with the diversity of the staff Biden had in place when he launched his campaign in April, highlighting that Biden didn’t put a diverse team around him because he faced “political pressure” to do so. He said Buttigieg only prioritized diversity when he faced a political “crisis.”

“In [Buttigieg’s] administration, until he hired an African American woman to be the attorney, for several months in there, he didn’t have anybody African American in his leadership,” Davis said of Buttigieg’s first term as mayor.

if you don't get trump's appeal...etc.

Someone may appeal to you but not to me or someone else, we all see things different, that is why Warren, Butigieg, Sanders, Harris, etc. they all have different percentages of popularity, because they appeal to their supporters.

I find that tweet offensive, its like saying that if you don't see Biden's appeal there is something wrong with you.

steadfast support of Joe.

I think it's more along the lines of "if you don't see why Biden is doing so well with black voters, try asking some of them why they support him".

His lead with black voters is substantial. Clearly, there are reasons for that and his supporters would be a good place to start to understand those reasons. That would appear to be the point of the tweet.

I said he wasn't my favorite and he said, "I am SO glad to hear you say that."

He favors Booker.

My brother's partner is a black voter and I asked her who she liked. She prefers Harris, Warren, or Sanders.

But both of them will vote for whatever Democrat wins, just as I will.
