Conservative organizations supported them against shortfalls so they could deliver right wing messaging across Americas flyover country. Im not making wild eyed claims about Foxs current financials but I am saying if they didnt turn a profit, conservative groups would keep them on the air as a propaganda tool.

(43,137 posts)508 million shares at $14.85 per share yields a book value of $7.6B. That's a starting point. Global media company with prime assets like WSJ. I forget that a lot was spun off in 2013. So yeah maybe less than half that on a good day. But you have to motivate the owners to sell. Not going to go easy.
