Rachel Maddow interrupted Pete's speech to call it. Cue Pete's people complaining about that and Bernie's people complaining that they went right back to Buttigieg without talking more about Bernie's win.

They had to, because Bernie won so he gets priority. But I was a little annoyed about it. He should have let Pete finish before starting. I don't remember Bernie and Hillary cutting each other off in 2016, or Hillary and Obama cutting each other off in 2008. I get that it's a little different in a 5-person race, but still, Bernie was the last one to speak tonight - he could have waited.

until she shows more strength in the primaries, I have declared for Bernie. This was very hard fought for Bernie despite what anyone says. Multiple candidates have strong bases, making a blowout harder.

enough policies that's not an issue for me.

I share everyone's concern that the Democratic Socialist label might hurt Bernie. But otherwise, I think he's someone who genuinely wants to help the most amount of people improve their lives.

16. It's a delegate race, not a winner take all race
Wed Feb 12, 2020, 12:17 AM
Feb 2020

So in terms of the overall race to the 1990 delegates, NH’s 24 pledged delegates will be divided proportionally among Sanders, Buttigieg, and Klobuchar, and there’s not a huge advantage there in winning 2 or 3 more delegates than one of the others at this point.

Except perhaps for bragging rights. But getting only 26% in your almost-home state is not a heck of a lot to brag about. While acknowledging a “win,” however slim, I don’t think this bodes all that well for Sanders.

20. I'm sure you can compare NH to Vermont
Wed Feb 12, 2020, 12:28 AM

They may border each other but they have vastly different Demographics. Vermont is the most liberal, anti-Trump state in the country. New Hampshire is very libertarian with almost an equal number of Dems and Republicans. Now Trump's approval has plummeted in NH more than any other state (-28), but it's by no means liberal like Vermont.

and lived 20 minutes away in Massachusetts. I think I know something about it.

Besides, what does that have to do with the fact that in primaries, you win delegates, not the state? The top 3 candidates were all quite close.
