good argument for Warren and Klobucher to stay in!!!

There is no rush to push Amy Klobuchar or Elizabeth Warren out of the race — yet — and here’s why: Joe Biden's campaign needs them in the race on Tuesday.

Team Biden believes having Klobuchar in the race through Super Tuesday is incredibly helpful to them.
Why? It blocks Bernie Sanders in the Minnesota primary on Tuesday.

“If Amy gets out, that gives Minnesota to Bernie,” a top Democrat close to the Biden campaign tells CNN.
Four years ago, Sanders crushed Hillary Clinton in Minnesota, winning 62% to 38% in the state’s caucuses. He has a strong appeal to Minnesota voters. But this year, it’s a primary contest which Klobuchar advisers believe she is poised to win or be incredibly competitive with Sanders.

A similar argument is true for Warren in Massachusetts. The Biden campaign wants Warren to be in the race through Super Tuesday, when Massachusetts voters weigh in.

Not just now. But in November.

Minnesota has switched from a caucus to a primary and that will affect Bernie's ability to do as well in 2020 as he did in 2016.

In reality, of course, it's always been foolish to suggest that all (or close to all) of the non-Sanders vote will go to Biden if it becomes a 1-on-1 contest. Many on DU subscribe to that notion, but there's a big bright world outside of DU where polling strongly suggests the "Sanders/Non-Sanders" binary is a fiction.

No matter how many times DUers say otherwise (the data simply doesn't support the belief). DU is not representative of the electorate at large (no more than any one of the states that's voted so far is, by itself, reflective of the electorate at large). Not even close. Inside the DU bubble, it's unfathomable that Sanders could be the 2nd choice for a "moderate." But, again, there's a big, bright (and complex) world outside of DU.

The following points to one of many examples of truth that runs completely counter to the dominant narrative inside the DU bubble: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-moderate-middle-is-a-myth/.

As the political scientists Donald Kinder and Nathan Kalmoe put it, after looking at five decades of public opinion research, “the moderate category seems less an ideological destination than a refuge for the innocent and the confused.” Similarly, political scientist David Broockman has also written about the meaninglessness of the “moderate” label, particularly as a predictor of centrism.

The takeaway is simple: As they must with independents, any pundit who talks about “moderates” as a key voting bloc begs that second follow-up question: Which moderates?

The upshot of all this is that if you’re a campaign trying to appeal to independents, moderates or undecided voters — or a concerned citizen trying to make sense of these groups in the context of an election — policy and ideology aren’t good frames of reference. There just isn’t much in terms of policy or ideology that unites these groups.

Anybody who claims to have the winning formula for winning moderate, independent or undecided voters is making things up. Perhaps more centrist policies will appeal to some voters in each of these categories — but so will more extreme policies....And come election day, these potential swing voters may not ultimately care all that much about policy. They don’t tend to identify themselves based on ideology, and they don’t follow politics all that closely.

As the only women left in the campaign, I think they should have the dignity of at least getting through the first major primary day and their home states. Once again, nearly 250 years into the life of our country, the chief executive will belong to one sex, and it will be a shame to lose their representation so quickly.

I'm sure Biden's people are on the phone with all of the other campaigns talking this over.

Bloomberg is the last wild card who can fuck this up and end up nominating Bernie. He needs to drop out too and spend on Biden.

Time to unite the Party and perma-block Bernie from destroying our Party's chances in the POTUS, House, and Senate. Biden needs to get over 1990 so we avoid a 2nd ballot which will help divided us more.
