In particular the Bloomberg supporters were mostly ex Biden supporters who gave up on him after poor showing in IA and NH. Those folks are coming back to Joe now.

Many people are pretty ambiguous about our nominee. They want to stop Bernie
and beat Trump. With the field being so crowded and no clear candidate that seems strongest, no candidate really
jumped out in the lead. I think last night changed that. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mayor Pete
drop out in the next week or so. Warren either, altho she may stay in peel voters away from Sanders.

I'm firmly of the opinion that we need to make BIG strides toward bettering ourselves as a nation, and that Warren would have been the best candidate to do that. It's my belief that a huge part of her poor showing has been the media generally ignoring her because she wasn't controversial.

Putting a positive spin on this, Warren's Senate seat won't be given away to a goper, and once we retake the Senate she'll be pushing the nation to the left from her position in the Senate.

Questions:

Will Berners vote? Will they vote for Joe? Which VP pick will gather them up? Does Joe's picking up moderates cancel out or outweigh losing Berners?

I love Joe. I'm confident in him. He's hung in there fabulously. Elizabeth's my candidate and already voted for her in Washington primary. Now I wish I would have waited and voted for Joe. I've sent $ to most of the Dems this cycle!

I don't get it, Sanders beats trump on every poll taken, but the establishment wants to convince people those polls are fake, or not true, or inaccurate, or must be ignored? This is bull...Sanders has the highest score when beating trump, and people continue to say they want "someone who can beat trump"...

I keep repeating it, we Democrats are doing a disservice to the party, to the people who support Sanders, and I really hope that it doesn't come to bite us as it did in 2016.

Count the number of posts in DU that are bashing Sanders, does it say something about the state of affairs of our party, at least in DU? Does it say something that the "Democratic Establishment" is finding ways to defeat Sanders because the people are voting for him and the people do not seem to know any better? Is the Democratic party having its own Electoral College on the side? What is going on?

He can be a very effective Senator and also gain experience and visibility to run a 2nd time.

I like Pete very much, but I have felt all along that he is too young for the presidency, and not because he would not do a good job, but the perception of voters would be that, and I think the GOP would attack him hard for that, even though the creature had not experience in any office and has proven to be an incompetent for doing the right thing, but we all know what hypocrites republicans are.

But, I will proudly fight for him. Just wanted a strong woman to take us back to a respectful nation. What I do love about Joe is this. To repaire the trump damage, after taking Senate, congress and presidency, we MUST immediately get to work. That means day one, replacing every criminal cabinet position with qualified non criminals. Joe has immediate connections to all Obama staff and more that would be willing to hit the ground running. Unlike Obama's first two years, no across the aisle shit. Mid term lack luster turn out will put us back under GOP block everything stalemates. I think Joe can rally the old band and even get some better to fix this hell right away. IF he does not pick Warren or Kamala as VP, put one in charge of bringing this whole damn GOP treasonous clown show to justice. They Must Pay, as trump would do. Congrats Joe supporters. I will join you proudly.

19. A Strong Woman
Sun Mar 1, 2020, 03:32 PM
Mar 2020

I was attracted to a suggestion I found elsewhere, that this is not the time for a woman. Let's get back to level ground. Let's get back to sanity. Then a woman can and will emerge. I don't know who it is going to be. I supported Hillary in 2016 and voted for her. I am not strongly attracted to any of the women running this year. Amy annoys me. Certainly not Tulsi. The woman who will become President may not be on the main stage now.

Never Tulsi, I like Warren, but I am seeing she so for does not seem to have the support needed to stomp trumps ass. Hope I am wrong, my sports teams, Cowboys and Tennessee Vols certainly do not like my suppport. May be a serious jinx. Maybe if Joe or Bernie take the slot, hope they can chose a "strong female" VP. Still early, but we must let the people vote with their hearts, stop slamming other's choice and unite strong for whoever the candidate is, except Tulsi. Rumors floating Bernie may make her his VP. That would really suck. Just, destroy the GOP. Period! Rip em out by the roots. All criminals, that shit on my service as a vet.

25. "Who the main alternative to Sanders is"...so much wrong in that statement
Sun Mar 1, 2020, 04:00 PM
Mar 2020

And then I was flagged for saying the Democratic party has a concerted conspiracy against Sanders, when two days ago the New York Times published an article stating that Democrats were trying to investigate ways to derail Sanders campaign.

CONSPIRACY: the action of plotting or conspiring.

Here is the headline of one article in NYT:
"Centrist Democrats Want to Stop Sanders. They’re Not Sure Who Can."
Unless a moderate favorite soon emerges, party leaders may increasingly look to Michael R. Bloomberg as a potential savior.
Senator Bernie Sanders’s victory in the New Hampshire primary has deepened a mood of anxiety among the Democratic establishment."

Another:
"Democratic Leaders Willing to Risk Party Damage to Stop Bernie Sanders"
Interviews with dozens of Democratic Party officials, including 93 superdelegates, found overwhelming opposition to handing Mr. Sanders the nomination if he fell short of a majority of delegates.

Another:
"Why Swing-District Democrats Don’t Want Bernie Sanders as the Nominee"

And one more, but you can find many on the same topic:
"‘Stop Sanders’ Democrats Are Agonizing Over His Momentum"

And I get flagged for saying there is a concerted effort, a conspiracy from the Democratic party to stop Sanders campaign. Democratic leaders are saying it out loud, but someone at DU doesn't like the truth so they flag my post...Hey, I didn't write those articles, I didn't talk to the "Democratic leaders" who gave their opinions on the matter, I am not the one getting our Democratic leaders together to think of ways to get Sanders out of the race, even though it seems that "Democratic Citizens" are voting in huge numbers for Sanders, but who cares what the people want, the leaders always know better, right?

I am not even a Sanders supporter at this time, if he wins the nomination I will be all in, of course, and no matter who. I am one of those who strongly believes in voting blue no matter who, but this concerted effort against Sanders is sickening.

Lets face it, 2/3 of Black voters voted for Biden, they seem to have forgotten about Anita Hill, his stances on busing which Kamala Harris explained, older voters and moderates (status quo), people who are not the future of this country, the future is with the young people, this country will never move ahead if we stay with the status quo, we will all be complaining about the politics, about healthcare, about education, about abuses of the corporate world, etc., nothing will change. And those who believe that if Biden wins the nomination he will bring Kamala Harris or Stacey Abrams, we shall see. It is a very intelligent move by Biden to bait black Americans to vote for him, but I doubt he will make that choice, of course that is only my personal opinion.

ONE LAST THING...I am not bashing the Democratic party, I am just telling the truth of what is going on, its out there on paper, on the internet, nothing I am saying I am making up. If someone cannot handle the truth that is a different issue, but I find it disgusting that the Democratic party is going against the will of their base, where is Democracy in all of this? How different from other parties does that make us? We should all be enraged no matter who your candidate of choice is, because it could happen to any of them.

"Democratic leaders are saying it out loud .."

And so are all those headlines you linked to ..
And that is why it is not a conspiracy.

Many people (leaders and rank and file alike) are quite openly expressing a preference for someone else than Sanders. They talk about this .. and sometimes they talk to each other. That is not back door machination .. that is not secrecy .. and that is not conspiracy. That is Democrats expressing their opinions.
