Democratic Primaries

I supported Klobuchar from day one. Most of the posts on the Klobuchar 2020 were by me. I agreed with every single word said about her. Yes, deep down I knew it would not last. Too much reason and common sene. As my spouse often reminds me: the world is not a reasonable, logical place.
And then I heard her in Dallas. Again, she made so much sense, showed so much empathy, talking about unifying. And I knew at the same time, Sanders came to her back yard with, no doubt, his usual fire and brimstone. The way he and Trump in 2016 could see nothing good about our country. Sanders still, Trump cannot afford to.
While Klobuchar was encouraging, unifying, optimistic, Sanders wad dividing, angry.
Yes, tomorrow I will vote for Biden. As I posted here several weeks ago, I heeded his call for donation that would be matched before Super Tuesday. But it will take me awhile to change my choice on these pages.
Thank you for all the love and support that you showed on her on these pages.

Thank you, Senator Klobuchar! You make me so very proud to be a D!

(22,599 posts)As for our selections, when a candidate drops out it automatically changes to "undecided" on the leader board.
Stay encouraged.

(5,044 posts)It was very hard for me to let go of the hope that this was going to turn out differently for my champion, Pete. I applaud you, and I applaud your candidate Amy! I think she's incredible and we're very, very fortunate to have a United States Senator like her.

(86,373 posts)I really wanted Harris to do well. Then after NH I was really leaning for her but after Warren ripped Bloomberg a new one I changed my mind to Warren. She changed at that debate. Klobuchar did well and would have fared better if she weren't competing against everybody else on the planet.
I am glad for her and the country that she is casting her support to Biden, she has shown grace and class this evening and through the campaign and I am glad she is a Senator and will at least remain there for us.

(53,061 posts)You should celebrate Klobuchar is, IMO, on the inside lane for VP, which was probably her actual goal.
Biden/Klobuchar will force Trump to dump Pence and replace with Haley.
2024 likely to be Klobuchar vs Haley

(2,657 posts)If Biden hadn't run, I think a lot of us Biden supporters would have been backing Amy. She's super smart and super hard-working, with mountains of common sense and street cred. I loved seeing her speak at the Biden rally tonight. It is awesome that she is on Team Biden now. If she's ready to leave the Senate, I hope Joe gets her an awesome position in Washington if he gets elected.

(50,922 posts)My only reason for not supporting her was that she didn't seem to get enough traction, and that always seems like it is little more than a name recognition issue.
Now we know her name. I think she'd do much better next time around.

(16,730 posts)I plan to see her in June at the DFL Stete convention at the end of May here in Rochester, as we will host again. She throws the best parties. In 2018, she and Tina Smith hosted a Prince party that was very well attended.
Amy will be working on behalf of Tina Smith in her Senate Campaign this year.

(1,402 posts)I've seen her many times and my thought was 'she is presidential. She is a very good communicator, talks about the facts not the other candidates. My thoughts she reminds me of Eleanor Roosevelt. She has a strong personality she doesn't need to compare or explain herself with anyone else.

(320 posts)On day one (or so) when Klobucher announced her run, the story that she was abusive to her staff emerged. It died away but I always remembered it and never really took to her. She validated the truth of that story when she refused to shake hands with Pete Buttigieg at the second to last debate.
I cannot believe that anyone here liked that demonstration. I'm glad she dropped. I hope she stays in the Senate. I don't know....she might make a good Attorney General. There she could be as mean as she wanted to be.
