Democratic Primaries

It's important he be tested. It makes our nominee stronger. If Biden wins, he'll be better for the losses early on. It's allowed for him to refind his voice and show so many voters why they supported him in the first place.
Look, Biden's campaign faded a bit because he veered from what makes Joe Joe. You know, empathy and heart. I'm not sure, had he never been tested, if that wouldn't have bit him in the butt eventually. But Biden is now on the cusp of one of the greatest comebacks in primary history and he'll be a stronger nominee for it if he does, in fact, win the nomination.
In 2008, Obama lost in a stunning upset vs Hillary in New Hampshire. Had he won, and likely won Nevada and then dominated in SC, that race ends pretty early. Maybe he's able to coalesce Hillary's support sooner. But I don't think he would have been as strong of a nominee. He had to work for it in 2008 and it made him capable to do it again in the general. It's the same with Clinton in 1992.
Biden has to earn the nomination. Not just have it given to him. Right now, if he succeeds, he'll be stronger for it and much better positioned in the general had he easily walked to the nomination.

(12,265 posts)She has been in my face before because I have a Biden sticker on my car. Nothing short of total devotion to BS will do for some of his supporters. She said that we were using jobs for Beto and Pete to get them to "fawn over" Biden.

(3,696 posts)administration if he wins. They are both are smart and political f**king rock stars. Folks who say Biden bribed them with promises of jobs are either naive or just want an attack line to use against Biden.

(10,156 posts)I would think they would be smarter than that but I guess not. I mean by getting your face and say remotely anything stupid like that? I guess I'm a boomer at 29 to some people. I mean I'm probably not that much older than her and I know better than that

(12,265 posts)Bernie has shown them free healthcare and free tuition. It won't happen but they have been told it can. That is what is driving this. They also think he can wave a magic want and make the climate better. They have been told that we Boomers are to blame for everything bad that is happening. Part of this is jealousy in that they think we had a better life than they did.

(10,156 posts)Bernie promises things that are not realistically doable but the younger crowds they don't care. Sadly they don't know because I don't think they understand how the process of passing laws work. And needing others to get bills passed. I'm 29 almost 30 and even I know it's all unrealistic.

(945 posts)This applies to both Sanders and Biden equally. We want to win in November so we want the candidate best placed to win. In order for them to do so, they need to show that they can attract significant support from multiple segments of society
