They could not staff several ballot drop off locations and closed them last minute (one in the gay area). Nothing like disenfranchising the poor. The notice didn't even let people know they could drop their ballots off at the post office.

In California, you now have 10 days to vote. It's been on the radio and news.

There were a few days of early voting -- but what a BAD IDEA in such a fluid contest --considering how the presidential field has changed in the last 24 hours.

There was a 2 hour wait at the voting center I went to. Most people had to wait outdoors with no shade and no benches. I had to drive there because the walkable precinct polling place is one of the 4000 polling places they cut.

Luckily I had a Vote By Mail ballot (VBM) -- which I wanted so that my vote would be recorded by hand on a paper ballot and 100% verifiable. I waltzed up to the front of the line, handed the envelope to a poll worker and witnessed him place it in the ballot box.

People are justifiably disgusted with the new $300,000,000 machines that create a computer code (QR code) on paper, which the human eye cannot interpret or verify.

If there is a recount or audit, they will just reread the QR code -- which means we'll never know whether we're counting votes that reflect what people intended to record.

Long lines, machine malfunctions, nonverifiable computer-printouts masquerading as paper ballots, hardware that is proprietary mixed with some open source that has been kept secret, machine costs kept secret, county clerk not available to answer probing questions -- does this sound like a good use of tax payer money????? So many more unanswered questions and problems...

Early voting is bad on so many levels.

Despite choices being printed out, most people don't check that print out -- and it doesn't always match voter intent. Also, the machine creates a QR code supposedly reflecting the voter's choices, however there is no way to verify that.

If one wants to wait until the last day, hold onto it and take it to the post office or any other drop box (and there are a lot of them in Sacramento County). My candidate probably won't win, but I'm hoping that she will give her delegates to Biden should she drop out.

Maybe the long lines consist of new voters, and that is a good sign!
