Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumWell, Bernie doesn't look like he's dropping out anytime soon...
I don't see that he's got much of a path to the nomination after tonight, but the way he's talking, sure looks like he's in it all the way to the convention.
James Carville's not going to be very happy about that LOL.

It takes, class, dignity and a self-assuredness .... plus a love for the country above one's self.

(11,949 posts)But near the end of the speech I thought he tipped his hand with the comment, after his voice broke, that he does not know where this campaign is going. He dialed it back, but he did not seem to have his normal fight.
And then the heartfelt thanks to Vermont for the years of love. Tonight has to be devastating for him. Hell, Biden may win Massachusetts!
I dont like the man much. But I respect what he believes in and agree with much of it. Classic example where style is as important as substance in politics.

(31,261 posts)He only thanked Vermont, his win tonight by the largest margin. He didn't mention Colorado, which he won by a small margin, or Texas or California, which combine for something like 800 pledged delegates - seems he knows the worst news is still to come tonight.

Sure as the sun rises tomorrow, Bernie will change his view back to his 2016 view.

(4,858 posts)...just as he did in 2016. We have rules and procedures in our party, and I don't feel that the convenience of the talking head class is a good enough reason to abandon them. Bernie should be Bernie, idealistic and grumpy, right to the end, if that's what he wants. If the media reaches for the smelling salts at the prospect of democracy breaking out...well, to hell with them.
