(22,912 posts)Super Tuesday was a contest between someone who represented long needed deep structural change in America running against someone who represented a return to prior stability and a restoration of common decency to America's leadership. A contest between Sanders and Trump would be a completely different match up. The fact that so many voters made up their mind to vote for Biden in the last 48 hours prior to Super Tuesday shows it wasn't Sanders being soundly rejected, that distinction goes to Bloomberg who bled his voters to Biden. Sanders did not fall down, Biden rose up. Voters want clarity on who can best defeat Trump and last minute indicators seemed to point toward Biden, so he reaped the benefit. Sanders for the moment is the path not taken, the choice became binary and the momentum was with Joe. It's Biden's race to lose now, but if Sanders somehow regains the upper hand he would enter the Fall election as the Democratic Party nominee running against a deeply flawed and corrupt human being, not against the very good man who he ran against last night.
