The media had been pushing the narrative that Bernie was heading to victory.

That triggered a fear and the fear got results.

Can’t blame people for being afraid of Sanders losing to Trump and losing congressional seats.

It is the Kennedy state, the Kerry State.

They would be petrified to elect a self-identified socialist. It didn't help that Sen. Warren had policies similar to him. So she got neither the loyal Democratic vote nor the rebel vote.
