5. By donating directly...

... you avoid things like unnecessary processing fees, and "splits" or "sharing" (or any sort of vig). I recall once not long ago a well known politician sent out an email asking them to "CLICK HERE TO DONATE TO [PERSON NAME] TODAY"

So many recipients would do just that... secure in the belief that 100% of their donation went directly to candidate who was explicitly named in the donation request.

But, upon further investigation... and reading the "fine print"... it turns out that the "well known politician" was actually taking a cut of the donation FOR THEIR OWN CAMPAIGN COFFERS, and other progressive causes.

I started using Act Blue in 2018 and it’s been fine. This year I’ve mostly donated just to
Gary Peters ( Senator Michigan) but I did make my first donation to a Joe just before Super Tuesday. Heck, if Bloomberg drops and keeps his promise to support the nominee, none of us might have to donate the rest of the election! More money for Pound Buddies in Muskegon.
