remove the bloomberg factor and apply a coefficient to split his votes between Joe and sanders, I would think we would see a diminished support for sanders as well.

we can thank trump for some of this as well with his kind words of support for sanders

5. You do know there were only two candidates in 2016, right?

Not sure what this is trying to prove. Biden is trying for the 4th time to become the nominee, should we account for that?

The Bernie-beating goes on. What I don't get is that the Biden camp is going to get their wish, Biden will be the nominee, whether he gets enough points to clinch it or whether they go to the convention where the "super delegates" will give Biden the nomination, so why are Biden supporters still going after Bernie, if there was a time when they should try to bring Bernie supporters to their side is now, why are you going to continue this war to disenfranchise Bernie supporters.

So how about if Biden supporters start using their noodle and stop the war against Bernie and his supporters to make an effort to unite the party, we need unity, the goal is to remove everyone from this administration, I know many people in DU have not lived through a process of going from Democracy to Dictatorship, I have, I know the symptoms, I have been seeing the symptoms in the USA for a long time.

I wrote an oped before the 2016 elections, I outlined what would happen if trump got elected, the NYT did not use my oped and I didn't send it anywhere else, not sure what I did with it, but so far it has gone according to plan, and I say that because the plan is the same whether it happens here, or South America, or Nazi Germany or anywhere else in the World.

Time to stop the Bernie-Bashing, you have had your fun, now its time to unite, we do need the Bernie supporters, make no mistake about it.

Nobody is "Bernie-Bashing".

So how about if Biden supporters start using their noodle and stop the war against Bernie
Instead, how about if Bernie supporters do something to stop the smears, lies and denigration of the Democratic party?

Why is there so much concern and "outrage" when someone legitimately notes and points out how Bernie's support has fallen in the past four years... yet nary a word is spoken, nor syllable uttered, nor word of complaint when the entire Democratic Party is smeared and denigrated with LIES that Democrats are "ideologically bankrupt"... or that that Democrats are "feeble".

Doesn't it ALSO help to drive away voters from the Democratic party (a little here, a little there) when the Democratic party is falsely portrayed as being "corrupt" and an "absolute failure"?

What good purpose does it serve for anyone to continually spread lies that Democratic party is "the party of the one-percent" and that we're the "party of the elite".

How does it attract new voters and "young voters" when they're being told that there's "no difference between Democrats and Republicans" and that the Democrats are "do-nothings"?

Bernie fans are frequently heard saying "now is the time to unite" and I'm happy to take them at their word... but if that's truly what anyone believes, then why do they remain utterly SILENT at the divisive and harmful attacks directed at the entire Democratic party?

None of those attacks against the party are true... but when people in power and when notable (famous) individuals use their "star power" to smear and denigrate the Democrats, well, that only creates long term division and it stokes resentment and distrust. And over time I guess "it all adds up" and people begin to believe the LIE that the Democrats are the same as the GOP and they stop supporting Democrats (from the top to the bottom) and in the long run, that only serves to benefit the GOP, and Trump, and Russia.

Why would anyone purposely do things that HARM our great party and which, in turn, ultimately BENEFIT the Republicans? It's a fair question that deserves and answer. Why would anyone defend (or ignore) that destructive behavior without saying anything... without calling it out... without expressing their disapproval. --- In the end, silence and apathy equal approval and agreement, right?

I'm just trying to say, and all I want to know is... what good purpose does that serve? Why is it okay to smear an entire party, but some find it so unutterably offensive to legitimately criticize the policies and actions (or inaction) of another?

12. We need high-profile politicians to stop calling the Democratic party "corrupt".
Wed Mar 4, 2020, 12:04 PM

The bickering and arguments that take place on this little website are nothing... NOTHING. Nobody cares (except for the three or four hundred regulars). What really matters most is when high-profile politicians continue to denigrate and demean the Democratic party with their derisive comments and slurs and lies and insults. THAT is what causes the most division. THAT is what weakens us. Not these petty little online squabbles among anonymous posters. Please, FFS, GMAB!

If you think there is no Bernie-Bashing then you are not reading the posts in DU
I see legitimate criticism, but no bashing, no lies. I see vetting and embarrassing truths coming out... but no bashing. I see honest questions being asked that deserve equally honest and forthright responses, but no bashing.

Honestly, if the Bernie campaign can't handle a little "heat" and "pressure" from this little website... there's zero chance that it would be able to survive what would be yet to come from the GOP and having to run up against even more than this. I tell ya, I've never seen such hand-wringing.
