Bernie Sanders Campaign Denies Involvement With Memo Circulating About Joe Biden's 'Obvious Cognitiv

Bernie Sanders Campaign Denies Involvement With Memo Circulating About Joe Biden's 'Obvious Cognitive Decline'

he Bernie Sanders presidential campaign is disavowing a list of post-Super Tuesday talking points distributed to supporters and surrogates on Wednesday morning that suggest Sanders partisans attack a resurgent Joe Biden on his "record and obvious cognitive decline."

The material, seen by Newsweek, was posted on various social media sites and on internal WhatsApp groups for supporters of the independent Vermont senator as an official campaign communique, but Sanders communications director Mike Caspa said he'd never seen it before.

"That's not a real document," he told Newsweek. "It's not ours."

"This is now a 2-person race, and there will be heightened scrutiny on Biden's record and obvious cognitive decline," the document reads.

The question of alleged Biden "cognitive decline" is a line of attack on Biden frequently visited by President Donald Trump and other critics of the former vice president. At a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Monday, Trump said, "They're going to put him into a home and other people are going to be running the country." He has also often lampooned Biden's propensity for gaffes, like opening his victory speech on Tuesday night by mixing up his sister and his wife.

without Sanders himself directing it.

We know that, but for those who may not, Sanders is very well known to be a strong micromanager, even overdoing to the point that at various times observers in VT and nationally have believed it handicapped his management. Anyway, this is SOP for him. As are the attack dogs he hires to execute these things for him.

Sirota, sure. And look for Russia and the RW candidate assassination machine to kick in.

in the Democratic Party. Plus it gives them an issue to use against Joe in the general. I can see it now, "Witness the memo that came up during the Democratic primary questioning Biden's cognitive abilities." Pure gold for Trump and the GOP.
