by political crap. My mental filters are pretty good. If one of my red voting FB friends posts something that is clearly, verifiably false, I post a link to refute it. They are entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts.

I don't want to ditch FB completely - I am in groups where intelligent discussion and exchange of information is still predominant.

I weaned myself off and for a good year no longer look at it daily. The only time I look is if I get an email saying a particular friend posted. I thought it would be hard but it was easy to wean myself off. But I also am the type of person who when I decide that’s it, I walk away. I quit my drink smoking habit that way in 2000. Whenever I drank I smoked then I quit and after 2 weeks lost the desire to smoke,.
