Joe Biden's Campaign To Bernie Sanders: Black Voters Aren't Part Of The 'Establishment'
Former Vice President Joe Bidens campaign took issue Wednesday with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) characterizing the race for the Democratic presidential nomination as a fight between his movement and that of the party establishment.
A big part of Sanders pitch to voters has been his fight against the establishment, whether it be politicians in Washington, D.C., or bankers on Wall Street. Its a message that has resonated across the country, helping build an impressive grassroots organization funded by millions of small donors.
The senator kept at it this week by pointing to high-profile endorsements Biden received from Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg and former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg. Sanders said these former 2020 contenders endorsing Biden served as evidence that party bigwigs are coalescing to stop him from winning the Democratic presidential nomination.
