Why didn't Bernie talk to Clyburn before SC Primary?

?s=20

Sanders explanation for why he didn't ask Clyburn to endorse him: "Jim is a very nice guy. I like him and respect him. His politics are not my politics. There’s no way in god’s Earth he was going to be endorsing me."

I'm so confused by this. Why wouldn't you try to plead your case to Clyburn?? Does he not want to work with anyone regardless of political affiliation? How does he expect to get things done?

In one paragraph, Sanders summed up exactly what is wrong with his strategy.

5. I think it is pretty simple. Bernie knew that Jim Clyburn was going to endorse Joe Biden.

Jim Clyburn knew that he was going to endorse Joe Biden and Joe Biden knew it.

8. And that's why he'll never get the black vote. No respect.

The fact it was all about endorsement when Amy and Pete and Joe were all there in Selma and those two knew they were suspending speaks volumes. Respect has to go both ways. He does not show it.

He doesn't bother to talk to Clyburn, and he skips the Bloody Sunday commemoration. In police terminology, those are clues.

Bernie doesn’t seem to care if his platform and rise to power aren’t benefitting.

Joe is a hugger, dammit, and I’m tired of his caring about people being defined as anything else.
