Should Senator Warren play a role in the next administration, and if so, what?

I'm sure the good people of Massachusetts would continue to be well-served by her in the Senate.

But she is a powerful voice and advocate for all Americans. She would have made a great President, and while that apparently was not meant to be, I would still want her to be in a prominent role if at all possible.

While Vice President would be a great choice, I fear that due to the age factor our nominee will probably go with someone younger.

Secretary of the Treasury would play to her skill set....but it isn't as high profile as role as others.

Would she be qualified for Secretary of State? Besides the President and Vice President, Secretary of State is arguably the highest profile post in the administration. And given that we have seen people like John Kerry and Hillary Clinton in the role, I think we could likewise use her talents in that way.

Or I suppose we could just give her back to Massachusetts....but again, we could all use her help right now.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

The current US Senate race for the Democratic nomination features both a qualified incumbent and a qualified challenger. It's basically an embarrassment of riches--the loser of the race could still be appointed to Warren's seat. So Elizabeth moving onto the administration wouldn't really hurt things in the Senate.

So we either need that changed in MA or she needs to stay in the Senate.

It is the House and Senate that most need fixing. People who want to carry out popular agendas need to be in the legislative body.

Head of CFPB seems to small.

I don’t like state or Vice President because I would like to keep hearing her on progressive economic issues. VP might not be that visible.

I just want to make sure we line up replacement senators this time around. I’d hate to lose ground by losing a special election like the last time in Massachusetts. Might be unfair for her, but we will desperately need senate votes.

To getting anything enacted. With a majority we can get 3 bills a year under reconciliation. We need 60 to break filibuster under current rules.

Losing Kennedy’s seat to scott brown took us from 60 votes to 59. Our next president should take into account the senate numbers in deciding appointments for any sitting senator. Interesting trivia is ACA passed with 60 votes before Brown, but there were changes to the bill so the final version passed under reconciliation.

I’d say that for any appointment not just Warren. Can’t say whether others have ulterior motives but some probably do.

It's the same problem as with Sherod Brown, the governor of Mass is a republican and he
would appoint a republican senator. I've always thought of her as more a cabinet position but unless we overwhelming elect democratic senators, we can't afford to lose even one
senator.
