Joe is starting to flip some counties in California

Last edited Thu Mar 5, 2020, 05:48 PM - Edit history (1)

Took a glance at the New York Times map of California and saw counties showing up for Joe that weren’t there before. I recall Solano and Marin flipped and Bernie’s only ahead by 10% in San Francisco.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I just turned a new ballot in for Joe after having already turned in my ballot for Elizabeth. Easy as pie to revote. I live in a tiny township and there were three women ahead of me requesting new ballots also.

49. What I think happened.
Thu Mar 5, 2020, 08:07 PM
Mar 2020

After Bernie won Nevada and it looked like he had a good chance of winning South Carolina, whispered plans for "purges" of the Democratic Party echelon began to filter out from Sanders supporters. I also don't think they had any respect for the role African Americans play in the Democratic Party. That caused the hair to stand up on the backs of loyal rank and file democrats, especially African Americans in South Carolina who saw "experts" claim that they would become mere window dressing on Sanders' march to the nomination. Basically too much gasoline of anger had been poured around by Sanders supporters and talking heads, Jim Clyburn lit the match, knowing those Sanders supporters and pundits had doused themselves and not the people that were to be ruled over and pulled toward a narrow viewpoint by a victorious Sanders.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Sounds like the campaign was destroying itself and perhaps didn't value the importance of the African American vote nearly as much as it should have. Without their support, a Democratic candidate can't possibly win.

Then going to war with the "establishment" was insane. That would include too many long time Democrats.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:

Biden appears to have a relationship that has endured through the good and the bad. Biden goes to important historical remembrances because being there is morally important, Sanders seem to go only if being there gains him some type of advantage. Big difference in perspective.

Mar 2020

I hadn't thought of it that way, but it appears to be true.

Though Bernie does draw big crowds, I think he has some really poor political instincts. Until he ran for president, most of his political experience was running in the small population state of Vermont. I'm not sure he was prepared for the national stage. Add to that the people he hired to run his campaign. Once again poor political instincts, in spite of a compelling message.

super-structure. They see that as blocks to what they want. They view rank and file democrats with suspicion, people to be overraned and taken over by Sanders revolutionary army of new and old supporters.

They just don't get that those DNC people that they so despise are everyday people that have put in years of shoe leather for the party, foregoing family events and spending their own money in many cases to buttress the bedrock principles of the Democratic Party, those people and the rank and file democrats who vote them into state party Democratic Party slots were not going to allow themselves to be overrun.
