BERNIE SANDERS' MEDICARE FOR ALL POLICY WOULD LIKELY INCREASE WAGES AND CREATE JOBS,

NEW ECONOMIC ANALYSIS SHOWS

A new analysis of the economic impact of a Medicare for All health care reform, like the signature policy proposal of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, suggests that such a plan would not only increase wages for workers but also create additional jobs.

Sanders, a progressive senator from Vermont who is currently a close second to former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democratic frontrunner, has long advocated for a universal or single-payer health care system. Critics argue that such a policy would lead to mass job loss and be an economic drain on the country, but the new analysis published Thursday by the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) suggests the opposite would happen.

Josh Bivens, EPI's director who conducted the study, wrote in the report that Medicare for All "would be unambiguously positive" for the labor market in the U.S., leading to a "boost in wages and salaries" as well as an "increase in job quality, while producing "a net increase in jobs."

Although the analysis notes that policymakers should not "ignore the distress caused by job transitions" due to such a health care reform, Bivens wrote that job losses during a transitional period would be "relatively small."

Or, rather, the nonexistent healthcare of tens of thousands, and the worthless horseshit healthcare of hundreds of thousands more and the national anxiety created by the entire clusterfucking mess?

I spent a great deal of my life without healthcare with others in the same boat. We were all fucked.

It is an embarrassing shame that the USA doesn’t have universal, single payer healthcare. So, beating chests for the guy who doesn’t support healthcare for all while casting dispersions at the guy who does is unnecessary.

Vote blue no matter who, but still question everything.

Indeed. Many people (and voters) who could have been allies and partners, are now distrustful and resentful and suspicious. Basically... BERNIE BLEW IT! He just didn't have the necessary leadership skills that are needed to be a successful President and Leader of the Free World.

Robert Reich was a founder.

That is like publishing a favorable analysis by Justice Democrats or Our Revolution. The so called "analysis" makes unproven assumptions and comes up with conclusions.

It is like assuming a Rolls Royce would cost $100 and in the end saying "The cost of operating a Rolls Royce is only a few pennies a day."

None of Bernie's policies matter. None of them will ever come to fruition because of who Bernie is. There is too much "us vs them and " my way or the highway" personality in him to ever be able to move legislation forward to a vote. Huge legislation like M4A would require a lot of compromise and bridge building. Those are not his strong suits, to say the least. The American people have seen it now for 4 years straight in his campaign. None of it will ever happen. Arguing policy is useless because of this.
