Her power is now with unifying the party. She is also there waiting in the wings if something were to happen to the nominee, health wise.

If the eventual nominee wins, she likely becomes the most powerful person in the Senate as we will likely have the majority. If our nominee loses, she becomes the most powerful elected person in the party. Either way, she has enormous goodwill as a tailwind and all sorts of potential to shape the party’s agenda in the future.

9. The 'swarm': How a subset of Sanders supporters use hostile tactics to drown out critics
Fri Mar 6, 2020, 12:20 AM
Mar 2020

Bernie Sanders spent months pretending that his supporters were not engaging in hostile tactics even though their behavior is no different from how they acted in 2016.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/07/politics/bernie-sanders-social-media-attacks-invs/index.html

(CNN)When the progressive Working Families Party announced its endorsement of Sen. Elizabeth Warren for president in September, anger reverberated across the SandersForPresident Reddit page for days.

One of the Reddit group's then-300,000 members encouraged fellow supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders to "spy" on the Working Families Party's activities and "organize counter events."

On Twitter, Sanders supporters lobbed hundreds of critical messages at the Working Families Party or its leadership, which included personal attacks that called them "corrupt," "shameless" and "bloodless scumbag hacks." One pro-Sanders account tweeted that "slave masters" had coerced the support of the party's national director, who is African American.

Three days after the endorsement, a WFP spokeswoman tweeted a screenshot of one message that wished she and her colleagues would "all get cancer you are f**king trash." She also said they received private messages saying "eat sh*t and die" and "drop dead dumb c*nts."

In another thread, on the subject of sexism directed against Elizabeth Warren, I made an argument that ended up concluding that the preponderance of sexist antipathy was coming from the camp of the only other remaining “progressive” campaign. They were her competitors for progressive bragging rights.

In response to some comments, I walked that back. Now, based on EW’s own views, I guess I can walk back that walk back.

Fri Mar 6, 2020, 01:21 AM

As the oligarchs WHO RUN THE PLANET will be practically unopposed.

Very few people have the gumption to stand up against their wealth and their power.

Few non Sanders Supporters understand why anyone would be angry about seeing the fruits of their labor being eaten by stockholders, and not their families.

I STRONGLY support Bernie, but I like Joe, Barack, Elizabeth, and the rest. I support Bernie because he (and Elizabeth too) have the courage to point out the massive corruption of money in our nation, our politics, and in our/my party. I am a Roosevelt Democrat. I work my ass off and pay up to ten times as much as other nations for my pills because of CORRUPTION.

I don't condone disgusting attacks on Democrats even moderate, centrist, or opposed Democrats. Republicans (in office) do and say anything you want. They are all truly scum. Some former Republicans have come to Jesus or something, and I appreciate their voices. Steele, Wallace, Jolley, and a few others. They never seem to talk about the voter suppression but anything is better than nothing.

I still understand the anger by the Bernie People. Some folks are tired of being robbed blind, and left for dead if they get sick. We can't all be John Q.

So you're saying anyone who doesn't support Bernie can't possibly be a progressive, or have any possible understanding of the issues the Democratic Party was working on since before Bernie ran for Congress?

That's a False Dilemma fallacy, and doesn't really support the sincerity of your plea for everyone to "be nice."
