Durbin endorses Biden: He 'can start to heal the wounds of this divided nation'

Sen. Dick Durbin (Ill.), the No. 2 Senate Democrat, has endorsed Joe Biden as the former vice president continues to rack up support from establishment Democrats for his White House bid.

Durbin’s endorsement comes ahead of Illinois’s primary on March 17, when 155 pledged delegates will be up for grabs. Durbin, who joined Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) in backing Biden, said the former vice president would be able to unite the country and relate to issues facing average Americans.

“America needs a President who can start to heal the wounds of this divided nation. Joe Biden will be that President,” Durbin said in a statement.

“America needs a President who understands that most Americans worry more about the supermarket than the stock market. That family struggling paycheck to paycheck needs a leader who remembers them every day,” he added. “America needs a President who will expand the protections of the ACA so every family, every person has access to affordable, quality health care. Joe Biden will be that President.”

Medicaid in Illinois is awful, the co pays are very high, most drugs are not covered...it takes months to get tests approved

and the aca is worse, I swear no one did the math

at 42,000 a year my spouse and I could get free insurance with a very high deductible (7 grand a piece)

at 52,000 a year my spouse and I would get the same insurance for 1500 bucks a month, so a 10 grand difference in income costs 18 grand a year plus since it is based on gross it doesn't take into account the ss taxes that have to be paid not alone income taxes

who in the world came up with these numbers? no one could possibly of done the math....durbin is my senator and I have called his office many times complaining, sometimes I get a nice form letter reply but mostly nothing

understanding of justice and fairness? It's like our leaders go into a state of denial thinking that a call for unity will be sufficient. It never is unless the other side acknowledges the mistakes they made and the injuries they caused.
