Biden rakes up Florida endorsements

TALLAHASSEE — Former Vice President Joe Biden, after his string of Super Tuesday victories, on Friday announced more than 20 endorsements from current and former Florida elected officials, including State Sen. Annette Taddeo.

Taddeo, a Miami Democrat who ran as Charlie Crist’s running mate in the 2014 governor’s race, had remained on the sidelines even as the Democratic field had continued to shrink. She was noncommittal about an endorsement earlier this week when asked.

Others now backing Biden include state Reps. Loranne Ausley (D-Tallahassee), Kamia Brown (D-Ocoee), Ben Diamond, Bobby DuBose (D-St. Petersburg), and Evan Jenne (D-Dania Beach), as well as Sean Shaw, a former legislator who ran for attorney general in 2018.

House Minority Leader Kionne McGhee, who had backed former Mayor Mike Bloomberg, was also included on a list of endorsements released by the Biden campaign.

The most recent poll has him at 61%, yes 61% of the primary vote in Florida. The poll was taken just before Bloomberg dropped out, so Joe is likely to rise even more.

"And according to a St. Pete Polls survey of likely Florida Democratic primary voters out Thursday, Biden will likely dominate the state with 61 percent support to Sen. Bernie Sanders' (I-Vt.) 13." <snip>

"Biden will likely only build on this lead seeing as Bloomberg, who got 14 percent of the vote , dropped out Wednesday and endorsed the former vice president." <snip>

"St. Pete Polls surveyed 1,882 likely Florida Democratic primary voters on March 4 via phone, with a 2.3 percent margin of error."

Fantastic! Looks like Florida is going to be a TOTAL BLOWOUT for Joe Biden. I wonder if Bernie will get any delegates at all, or will he fall below 15%?

Things aren't looking good for Bernie. Bernie needs some of his own "blowout" victories in order to catch up... but looking at the states that remain, it's not at all likely that Bernie will perform well.
