(7,261 posts)WTH has happened to us that we can't respect a person for taking the hard road in order to honor one's beliefs?
Trashing for the sake of it? If it was Obama taking the "high road" you all couldn't throw out enough accolades.
The hypocrisy here makes me sick anymore.

What did that straw man ever do to you?
"You all?"
Sounds like you have a huge chip on your shoulder that has nothing to do with me or this post.
Perhaps you need a break from DU....

Your "pretty graphic" has helped me and calmed me when I needed it most. I see it when I lay down to sleep. I breathe. I feel the calm.
Thanks ehrnst.

(3,256 posts)Politics is a game of give and take, not a game of "my way or highway."
Bernie is a politician ... he is not a messiah. Politicians strive to get 70% of they want by giving 30% but most would settle for 50%. It is transactional.
Very core principles - like equality, anti-discrimination, a woman's right to choose are never sacrificed. However, benefit program proposals can handle a give and take if it improves the lives of people.
Obama was able to pass ACA because he bargained. If he had insisted on a single payer, we would have no plan at all. Obama succeded in giving health care to millions. It was not perfect but it was a start. It helped people.

(10,893 posts)BS refusing MB's money is even more of a reason for me not to want him as our nominee. I oppose money in politics, too, but best believe that 45*'s side will have mammoth dollars and plan on using them. MB can help neutralize that. BS might score some points among his core fans, but he would be setting himself up for an even bigger disadvantage in a GE matchup by turning that money down.
