They've asked any student or employee who has traveled to a level 3 or 2 country to notify student health, dept of risk mgmt, and their departments. Travel to level 3 countries (China, Iran, South Korea, Italy) is discontinued. Travel to level 2 countries is highly discouraged. If you traveled to either level 2 or 3 country, you are required to self quarantine for at least 14 days. If you can't quarantine for at least 14 days, they are asking that you don't travel. They are discouraging attending large gatherings both on and off campus such as conferences, concerts, other events. They are also asking that if you are traveling for personal reasons to any of those countries, that you let them know. They've never asked that before, but it said that things are changing so quickly, it would help them. They are asking everyone who works and studies there to become familiar with their online learning and conferencing platforms. Managers are to prepare in the event that large numbers of employees are out sick. And they are stressing to all "Stay home if you are sick!"
That last line is something that really pisses me off when someone comes into work hacking/coughing or running a fever, or like earlier this year, with early shingles. Had to MAKE that guy stay home until he got a drs. note to come back to work (we had people there with young babies and a lady who was pregnant with twins). I don't feel too healthy at work. My group just got moved into a large conference room (due to renovations), shoulder to shoulder (literally). It used to be called the VCR room (video conference room). I've renamed it the VIR room (viral incubation room). Gallows humor.
