Justice Democrats, the left-wing organization that recruited Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to run for Congress in 2018, told POLITICO it is endorsing the Vermont senator Sunday.
He has the vision to unite and govern America in this time of crisis, said Alexandra Rojas, executive director of Justice Democrats. There is no question that if Bernie Sanders had not run for president in 2016, organizations like Justice Democrats would not exist. Over the past four years, he has galvanized a movement that made Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, free public college, ending mass incarceration and deportation, confronting skyrocketing inequality, and rejecting corporate money into mainstream positions in the Democratic Party.
In the months leading up to the first presidential primaries, Sanders consolidated the support of many progressive elected officials and groups. But Justice Democrats, an organization founded by former Sanders aides, was an exception. Instead of backing Sanders or the other progressive standard-bearer in the race, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, it said positive things about them both.
1. Why? (Their endorsement record is terrible)
2. Why now? (Seems a little late )

Chakrabarti was AOC's campaign manager and then her Chief of Staff until he blew it by idolizing Subhas Chandra Bose, who fought against Americans in India during WWII and was supported by Adolf Hitler.
Our Revolution was originally Sanders' 2016 campaign organization, became "Our Revolution" when the campaign ended. Some of the same people involved with Justice Democrats were also involved with Our Revolution.
