Biden is everything Trump is not
As Trump exploits racism, xenophobia and division, we must assemble a coalition of voters who reflect America’s shifting demographics and the strength of our country’s diversity. Joe Biden has done that better than anyone — as seen in his success in diverse states like South Carolina and Nevada.
As Trump continues his lifelong pattern of putting his personal interests above everything else (including the country he leads), we need a candidate whose life has been devoted to public service. Throughout the decades — as Trump enriched himself through shady business deals, stiffing contractors, swindling charities and bleeding companies dry — Biden served the American people in government. He passed on more lucrative career paths in exchange for long days spent crafting policy and enduring lengthy daily Amtrak commutes between Wilmington and Washington.

As Trump tightens his grip on Republicans in Congress and demands absolute fealty, we need a candidate who will lift Democrats’ chances for majorities in the House and Senate. Biden’s ability to assemble diverse coalitions will boost candidates down the ballot throughout the country. And when it comes to working with Congress, no one is better than Joe Biden. I’ve watched firsthand as he shepherded some of the most consequential policies and legislation in generations.
As Trump continues peddling hate, division and cruelty, both rhetorically and in his policies, we need a candidate steeped in empathy and compassion — someone who is truly gifted at bringing people together. Joe Biden has experienced unimaginable tragedy in his life, and those experiences made him one of the most empathetic and compassionate people I have ever known. After Trump’s apathy, narcissism, hate and division, America needs a president who can reestablish America’s focus on justice and compassion in an administration and its policies.
