While Mr. Sanderss criticism of the media has more merit than most reporters like to acknowledge, the media has often gotten Mr. Sanders right, too. His weaknesses, from a rigid attachment to the battles of an earlier generation to his struggle to persuade older black Democrats to join his revolution, arent media inventions. Theyre good, fair stories.
And in 2020, far more than in 2016, the media has also captured his strengths: his consistency, his commitment to the poor, his deep popularity with young people. A top supporter of Mr. Sanders, New Yorks mayor, Bill de Blasio, offered an explanation for that in an interview.

I don't want another 4 years of that crap. I'm not sure what the BS campaign is expecting from the media, but bullying them for better coverage is an all too familiar tactic.
