29. The problem is
Tue Mar 10, 2020, 12:33 PM
Mar 2020

It is not illegal to own machine guns. If you can afford the purchase price (starting around ten grand and rising quickly). Pass the enhanced background check, pay a $200.00 tax stamp, you can have all the machine guns you want. There are some additional restrictions that comes with ownership, but it is nothing that is particularly difficult to deal with.

If I wanted an MG today, I would drive 25 miles to my nearest dealer, pay for the gun, do the paperwork for the background check, and wait probably around 60 to 90 days for the results to come back before I could take possession of the weapon. For a non-felon is is mainly just a money issue. They are as expensive to shoot as they are to buy too. You could easily spend $20.00 a second airing out a machine gun. That is usually more money than a construction worker or truck driver can stand.

Machine gun crimes are rare because they are generally owned by professional people with deep pockets and a lot to lose. I spoke to a dealer about who his clients were, and he told me that the were mostly doctors and lawyers. Go figure...

The point of this is that if Joe chooses to carry out arguments with people like the man in the video, he needs to know a little more of what he is talking about. He would have been better served to have just laughed at the guy and walked away rather than fall into a trap. Right wingers get a great thrill of catching liberals in an error when they are talking about guns. The right rejoices in being able to point out how dumb Libtards are.

One would surmise after 50 years of "They're coming to take our guns" bullshit most of the anacephalic RWNJ's would have figured it out the fear-scam by now.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Nutters like that guy are absolutist in their belief that that particular right is inviolable.

Did they fail 9th grade Civics? Somebody needs to remind them that attendant with individual rights is individual responsibility.

I realize this is condescending, but they need to learn this lesson. Until they understand THAT, they ARE full of shit.

I didn't see any women in the video that might have been construction workers but there might had been some out of sight. The ones in the video were likely media or part of Biden's staff.

President Obama signed two laws relating to gun rights:

One of the laws allows gun owners to carry weapons in national parks; that law took effect in February 2012 and replaced President Ronald Reagan's policy that required guns to be locked in glove compartments of trunks of cars that enter national parks.

Another gun law signed by Obama allows Amtrak passengers to carry guns in checked baggage, a move that reversed a measure put in place after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Both of these laws expanded the rights of gun owners.

Mango Mussolini, on the other hand, signed a new regulation in December of 2018 banning bump-fire stocks. Next thing you know, he'll be coming after my guns.
