Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI am part of the majority
Here on DU:
Undecided: 52%
Biden: 33%
Sanders: 14%
I support principles of liberty, equality, compassion, democracy, and objectivity. I don't like to see rudeness or brow-beating because it conflicts with my values of compassion and democracy. I don't like to read spin either because I try to be objective and seek objective primary sources and engage in critical thinking.
I believe that both Sanders and Biden support my values. I hope most of their supporters do, too.
I expect to see people who seek unity to lead by example and actualize my values. If they do not, I reason that they do not share my values after all.

(25,429 posts)A lot of posters are intentionally staying undecided to avoid preconceived notions. Many are quite open about it.
A lot of posters don't care who the nominee is and are focusing on November.
A lot of posters probably don't realize that when other candidates drop out, they're automatically switched to undecided.
A lot of posters who were supporting other candidates and were switched to undecided may no longer be posting.

(12,712 posts)Do you have some data to back those points up, or is it merely opinion?
What do you mean by a "lot of" and how do you know that?
Maybe some polls here would help to underscore your points?
A lot of members may care or not care, though.

(25,429 posts)It's not complicated. If you've been around through the primaries, simple personal observation would have answered your questions.

(7,638 posts)And they're not going to go your way. Today "undecideds" will take a side. A true and loyal Democrat vs. The Independent Senator from Vermont.
Like that's a real choice.

(58,785 posts)I don't think, however, that trying to normalize the actions of those who threaten our principles is the best way to protect and advance them. Sometimes it's necessary to speak out, especially when the attacks are coming from within and must be resisted.

(68,471 posts)do favor one candidate or the other as their posts clearly indicate...as do yours. Clearly you are not a Biden supporter and have defended Sanders thus, my theory holds...the supposed undecided have decided.

(1,652 posts)This is how I identify. I am independent of an "X supporter" label. This is because I believe in supporting Bernie's activism up to the point when Biden wins the nomination and if he does, to then support Biden but to also continue to support the issues important to me. The environment is very important and since I wrote that op, I notice Biden is using the phrase Green New Deal which is good.
Do you agree that is good?

(68,471 posts)As for Green New Deal...it won't happen...but if we win we can begin to address this very important issue.
