There was a concerted effort by Republicans to do that in South Carolina and it didn't work. I haven't even heard much about a similar effort in Michigan.

There was a Republican mayor in Michigan who endorsed Biden and called Trump deranged. Maybe some Republicans are following suit.

I thought Michigan didn't have party registration? Has that changed?

Repubs voted in the Democratic party's primary in 2016, as well. With malice.

And that's how I thought Michigan worked, since I used to work with voter files for a living.

I don't think Republicans voting "with malice" are a significant mass. If they were South Carolina would have been closer.

Probably some Operation Chaos voters but also some Republicans who legit don't like Trump and prefer Biden over Sanders.
