You know what?

I'm mad as hell also! You don't seem to want what I want and I damn sure don't want what your trying to sell. The only difference is my side is winning & will continue to do so.

I know this is before you young peoples time but take it to heart.

Short version of the message "You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometime you find
You get what you need"
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

4. And "Oh Very Young" by Cat Stevens

pops into my head a lot lately. So many young people don't realize that so much of what they take for granted today is thanks to the generation that they are denigrating now. Also, we clearly had the best music EVER!

Oh very young, what will you leave us this time
You're only dancin' on this earth for a short while
And though your dreams may toss and turn you now
They will vanish away like your dads best jeans
Denim blue, faded up to the sky
And though you want them to last forever
You know they never will
You know they never will
And the patches make the goodbye harder still

Oh very young what will you leave us this time
There'll never be a better chance to change your mind
And if you want this world to see a better day
Will you carry the words of love with you
Will you, will you ride the great white bird into heaven
And though you want to last forever
You know you never will
You know you never will
And the goodbye makes the journey harder still

Will you carry the words of love with you
Will you ride, oh, ooh

Oh very young, what will you leave us this time
You're only dancin' on this earth for a short while
Oh very young, what will you leave us this time

I remember being "very young", we really thought we knew everything. Our passion was often a substitute for experience based common sense. Sometimes I miss that passion, but not the ignorance and inexperience.

And you are definitely right about the music.

Our music changed a generation.

- Ended the draft
- Stopped the war in Vietnam
- Made abortion legal
- Woman's rights, a lot of young people have no idea what it used to be like
- The Voting Rights Act of 1965
- The Civil Rights Act of 1964
- Clean Air Act of 1965
- Clean Water Act
- Motor Vehicle Emission and Fuel Standards
- Closed the gap in the ozone
- Brought young people most of the technology that they use to put down those who came before them.
- Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards
- The safest air travel we've ever experienced

And the list goes on and on. I just happen to think many people take for granted what people did before them, pretty much like my generation did in regards to our parents and grandparents. Instead of putting down an entire generation, it would be better to take what is good and build on that, while eliminating anything that no longer serves the good of the people.

And once again, we gave the world the best music ever!

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
