Sanders wins Northern Mariana Islands caucus, 4 delegates

Sen. Bernie Sanders won the Northern Mariana Islands Democratic presidential caucus, grabbing four of the six delegates Saturday.

Former Vice President Joe Biden won the other two. This shrinks Biden’s lead to 154 delegates in The Associated Press delegate count.

Saturday was the first time Sanders had a bigger delegate day than Biden since Nevada’s caucuses on Feb. 22. Since then, Biden swamped the Vermont senator in South Carolina, Super Tuesday and on March 10, when six states voted.

Nola Hix, chair of the U.S. territory’s Democratic Party, said 134 people caucused Saturday on the Pacific island chain of about 53,000 people.

I wonder why Senator Sanders message resonates better there than on the main land.
its not like he went there to hold a rally.

Even BS isn't happy about the win.
Not sure whether the author of that story is spinning or trolling: "Saturday was the first time Sanders had a bigger delegate day than Biden since Nevada’s caucuses on Feb. 22". Gotta take the wins you get. 60:40 split here, 60:40 (generous) split in Florida for Biden, let's call it a draw.

Until now, I actually thought this 100+ votes were some intermediate delegates representing some districts/precincts and thousands of actual voters because the population is considerably higher but: "134 people caucused Saturday on the Pacific island chain of about 53,000 people". 134 people for 6 delegates...So one part of that island was really won by Bernie with 3 people participating. A couple and their cat, I assume. Maybe the story just got it wrong.

Other people likely consider the race over. I wonder whether Sanders will use this big win during the debate as justification that people want him as President?

our electorate. I can't help but think of WA State in 2016, where they held a caucus, and a non-binding primary. BS won the caucus, but Hillary routed him in the primary. There's just no reason, in this day and age, for the old caucus system.

We just found a beautiful island in the middle of the deep blue Pacific where the people there absolutely adore you...well, 134 of them at least.

We here at DU have passed around the cap and pooled enough of our meager resources to send you and the missus there ASAP on an all-expenses paid vacation. We've already made the airline reservations and booked the hotel room. We collected enough for you to stay this long...

Have a terrific vacation and send us a post card once in a while!
