on Twitter saying that the debate was sit down because Joe didn’t have the ability to stand that long. It was offensive bullshit.

What is wrong with people? Given Sanders is the only one of the two who just recently had a heart attack you'd think his supporters could come up with something at least believable.

It’ll be interesting to see if they each stay at the podiums. With no audience I’d assume they will.

I'd read that it would be seated but if he has to stay on his feet two hours he has only himself to blame.

that Biden wanted to be sitting down, the implication being he is too weak to stand for a few hours. Something he's done at every debate so far, by the way.

I think Bernie comes across better sitting in a quiet room. His hunched over posture, excited voice and arm waving are going to be bad optics in a quiet room.

I hope they both do well and are decent to each other.

It hurts worse to sit than to stand? Watch for leaning and poor posture... that's a clue too.

they should be standing.

I thought that was the original plan, then someone asked for seated at a table, then both camps denied ever requesting that.

But I'm still unsure why candidates sitting makes it any less of a debate.

No one has given me a satisfactory answer why this was a big deal.

This is ableism, the idea that a president has to be able to stand for so many hours--or stand at all--to be fit for office.

I'd rather have FDR in a wheelchair as president than a RWNJ marathon runner any day of the week.
