Biden urges voters to cast ballots in Tuesday primaries as coronavirus concerns mount..Go Joe...😎

Former Vice President Joe Biden asked voters in a slew of Tuesday primary states to "please vote" as the coronavirus crisis has led to widespread closings and cancellations as officials try to corral the COVID-19 outbreak.
Florida, Ohio, Illinois and Arizona are slated to hold primaries Tuesday. Already, Georgia and Louisiana have announced that they are pushing back their primaries from March and April to May and June

"The right to vote is the most sacred American right there is," Biden tweeted. "State election officials are working closely with public health officials to hold safe elections. If you are feeling healthy, not showing symptoms, and not at risk of being exposed to COVID-19: please vote on Tuesday."
"If you're exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 — or might be at risk — absentee or vote by mail options are the best way to make your voice heard, while protecting your neighbors," he continued

"Americans have participated in elections during challenging times in the past, and based on the best information we have from public health officials, we are confident that voters in our states can safely and securely cast their ballots in this election, and that otherwise healthy poll workers can and should carry out their patriotic duties on Tuesday," they continued

3. We need to get rid of caucuses. There should be only primaries.

They were hanging by a thread anyway. One of those great ideas that really wasn't. Next up: diamond lanes!

Sure, the polls show that he's going to do just fine tomorrow. His problem is that his older base of voters might just say, "Well, he's going to win my state, he doesn't need my vote, I'm staying in and safe." Then Bernie's younger base, which has less fear of the virus shows up and at least makes it close.

8. I used mail-in, but if I were to go to my precinct polling place I would do the following...

Mar 2020

Wear a disposable mask
Wear disposable gloves until time to use whatever equipment they offer
Use a wipe on the pen or stylus
Use a wipe or Purell on my hands afterward
Pull on a new pair of disposable gloves
Thank the poll workers and get the hell out of there

I would not fail to vote this year. What next? "Postpone" the General Election? No thanks.

9. Ohio's governor, Mike DeWine a republican, has cancelled tomorrow's primary.

As much as I support Bernie, I think he should suspend his campaign.

Having people to to polling places to vote when medical professionals recommend avoiding places with more than 10 people, as much as I treasure the democratic exercise of primary voting, seems like a bad idea.

It is likely that there will be more primary cancellations in the future. We don't need the Democratic nomination to be delayed.

He is going to court, and we don't know what court will decide.

12. How sure are you that the CV won't be much worse in May, June?

The health situation could get much worse with time. Let people that want to vote vote and get those primaries out of the way.

The cancellations so far appear to be more about politics than public health. If the issue was about public health, officials would have delayed for a week or two, then sent mail-in ballots to everyone that had not already voted - but they are not doing that.

13. It may be. Medical professionals are recommending limiting public

interactions to minimize the spread of CV.

Schools, restaurants, theaters, etc. have been closed to help ‘flatten the curve’. They are acting now at he behest of medical professionals even though things may indeed be worse in a matter month or two.

Frankly, as much as I support Bernie, I hope he suspends his campaign this week. More primaries will be postponed in the weeks ahead. Our party’s voters have spoken.
