Early voting and vote-by-mail numbers in tonight's Florida primary has outpaced the turnout in 2016.

My husband and I voted early. My son waited until election day because he goes to FSU and they were already scheduled to be on Spring Break this week so he knew he'd be home.

Only one other person voting at the polling location that serves two precincts. In and out in minutes.

I have no idea if that has more to do with early voting and vote by mail or virus fears.

I live in South Lake County. Pretty conservative and very white.

A clear majority of the voters at the poll were African American, mainly female. females. In fact, there was only one other white man that I saw voting and he was probably 20 years younger than me. . Several white females. Realize the republicans had nothing to vote for.

The lady that handed me the Democratic ballot was African American. We looked me in the eyes and gave me a knowing half grin when I thanked her.

I’m thinking Joe cleans up.

Oh, and there was an emotional situation I can’t remember seeing before. A young Hispanic lady came with her (I assume) mother to cast her first ballot ever. The worker taking her ID stood up and made an impromptu announcement about the occasion. The entire basketball court of people, voters and workers alike gave her rousing round of applause. I was moved.

We've been canvassing our county for months getting VBM cards signed. I hope it's made a difference.
