Is the Bernie Sanders campaign still accepting donations? Should they be?

Are people being misled into believing that just one more donation will help Bernie to get things going again? In one regard, I suppose that adults who are still donating to him are probably aware of the dire reality of his political situation. But on the other hand, I imagine that the adrenaline rush that people get after donating could be compared to the same rush from playing the slot machine... along with the belief that just ONE more try will turn the luck around... so they just keep feeding money into the machine and pulling the handle to spin the wheels, time and time again.

When a campaign has money left over, are they required to return it? Does the candidate get to keep it?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

And Federal Law allows candidates to keep donations. Even losing candidates need to pay bills and staffers.

So this applies to every candidate who runs.

Edited to add:

Per a post by MM, it cannot be used as personal income.

He has zero chance of being our party's nominee, and his staff and surrogates continue to smear and attack Biden as well as the Democratic party in general. Now tell me... WHAT good purpose does that serve? It's a scorched-earth philosophy that is intended to do nothing other than kneecap Biden and make it easier for Trump. Does he care what his staff is doing? Negativity generates apathy. Apathy discourages voter turnout. Low voter turnout gives Republicans a chance to steal the elections.
