Wish it was Joe & not Bernie streaming a compelling Corona Virus Round table right now but its not.

What a missed real time opportunity to comfort to a lot of scared Americans and demonsrate leadership. This is the kind of confounding stuff that gives this ex-Warren supporter great pause about Joe. I'm voting for him. But come on, tweets are not enough at this unprecedented moment. Hate him or not. Spoiler or not. Just like Bernie said, he is winning the battle of ideas but not electability. It will be a long summer.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

him... but to continuously bash Bernie after all he has achieved in moving this country to the left. jeez. It's vile. Maybe you don't think so. Frankly, I thought it was a violation of DU policy to talk smack a against a democratic candidate. This is obviously not the case. BTW, the Bern Man not even my first choice as a candidate -- Warren was. I like Bernie. And I like Joe. But I don't like bullies. And I only switched my candidate preference to Bernie after I saw all the attacks on him. And from Duers I have seen on these boards for years. If y'all have a problem with Bernie not folding his tent and shutting the dhow down, then blame the DNC and their rules. Otherwise, respect the effen process. He is still technically a democratic candidate in contention for the nomination and has every right to stay in the race. I really have to think some of the heightened vitriol around here is due to the anxiety related to pandemic crisis.

What is the source for those numbers? I have seen similar figures a time or two, but have no idea how they are derived.

72. There are web traffic accumulators out there
Mon Mar 23, 2020, 11:30 PM

They poll DNS servers and various search engines for http (or https) requests to a site. With a subscription to sites like Alexa, ahrefs etc. one can even tell how much traffic came from PCs vs mobile devices. One can also get a breakdown of where the traffic came from - down to postal code granularity.

One can also get historical numbers going back as much as 3 years.

63. A U.S. senator should not be skipping out on his duties

his duties to try to keep his followers from straying. He should do both if he feels he must, but never just the one.

Sanders is technically on SIX committees, and if none of them miss his presence because he's very seldom there anyway, that's never an excuse for not showing up to work and doing what he was sent to the senate for .

I wonder, though, if Sanders was even welcome. He has a history of hijacking events, even some he was specifically asked not to attend, by pushing in front of the cameras to "bern" their message to him. And Ocasio at least has been distancing from him.

65. He needs to be neutered. Going forward, NO committee or chair assignments.

If he's an "ally" then he needs to start acting like one. If he cannot act like one, if he cannot get with the program... then we need to stop affording him certain honors, assignments, privileges. I think that's a perfectly reasonable condition to make. There's nothing wrong with setting minimum standards and having higher expectations.

"Not me. Us." Uh-huh. Yeah right. Just another quickly forgotten and abandoned bumper sticker slogan.

in the senate. Officially removing him from committees would seriously not be worth the bother. He has no power -- a result of his extremism and incompetence, is seldom there, and apparently spends most of his time when he is either silent or effectively insisting all the people who don't think "only he can fix it" are wrong. Tedious. Especially when he normally votes Democrat anyway with reelection in mind.

"Not me, us." It could be a slogan with the right spirit, just unfortunately adopted by someone incapable of leading "us."

Joe may have things to do....like preparing for a general election and deciding/vetting who will be his veep and his cabinet. And quite honestly, OrangeAnus has NO ONE manning a million positions so Joe is going to have to jump in and hire nearly a whole damn government. That's a shit ton of work. And since it's just a clusterfuck, he'll need to do it pretty quickly too. Joe Biden will be held to a very different standard. So he is probably taking the time to get his ducks in a row.
