The House just smacked Massie in the ass and sent him on his way!

Last edited Fri Mar 27, 2020, 02:14 PM - Edit history (3)

The Chair declared a quorum was present and a sufficient number of members stood to pass the bill by voice vote.

FUCK YOU Massie!

And thank you Speaker Pelosi, Senator Schumer, Senator Warren, Senator Booker, Senator Harris and all the Democratic negotiators who hammered out this bill.

And most importantly thank you Senator Klobuchar, who stayed on the case all during the time your husband was hospitalized!

We've got a great bunch of leaders in both Houses.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

We don't need grandstanding at this time, from either party. It's going to be tough enough getting the bulk of the republican party to act reasonably, we don't need asshole iconoclasts trying to get their moment in the spotlight on top of that.

If, after his speech, in which 'Bernie' actually spit real fire, he had tried to follow through on his threat to obstruct.

"From Bernie’s perspective, dropping out of a race once you have no chance of winning is peculiar behavior that can only be explained by the work of a hidden hand. For most politicians, though, it is actually standard operating procedure. Only Sanders seems to think the normal thing to do once voters have made clear they don’t want to nominate you is to continue campaigning anyway."

"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."

You paint with a very broad brush when you say "They'll (vote) for Satan if he has an R by (h)is name." I live in Kentucky and while I don't believe there is a Satan (possible exception of Sen. McConnell), I know quite a few folks who, like me, vote for Democrats.

that it's not accurate to say "they" will vote for anyone with an R after his/her name. In this case, the incumbent R governor was very unpopular and was running aligned with Trump on national issues. The Democrat (Andy Beshear) focused on issues that directly affect Kentucky voters. During this coronavirus crisis, Gov. Beshear is demonstrating what a wise choice the voters made.

... and I can't stand him. He is like Rand Paul- a know-it-all right-wing libertarian who has made a fetish out of some parts of the Constitution and ignores other parts (especially the parts about the common welfare). I don't know why he is popular enough to get elected, but then again, I am not a right-wing nutter like so many others in this state are. If I were 10 years younger I would seriously consider running against this fucking clod just to point out his many deficiencies.

Shortly after this that Manchin had been chosen to give Mitch the news Democrats would not go along unless the bill included more for workers and the provision that Trump, his family, government officials including Congress could not benefit.

Did you know as they were getting ready to vote Schumer found the paragraph was not in the bill? He held it up for 2 hours until they printed it in.

Trump claims he will not abide but Nancy said last night on Rachel there would be an Independent Over seer and a committee of congress to check him.
