Sanders calls on Wisconsin to delay primary amid coronavirus outbreak

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is calling on Wisconsin to postpone its April 7 primary as reports emerge about chaos surrounding the elections during the coronavirus outbreak.

“People should not be forced to put their lives on the line to vote, which is why 15 states are now following the advice of public health experts and delaying their elections. We urge Wisconsin to join them,” Sanders said in a statement. “The state should delay Tuesday’s vote, extend early voting and work to move entirely to vote-by-mail. While we wait for a decision, we urge our supporters to vote-by-mail.”

Most of the states that were scheduled to hold their primaries in late March or early April have delayed the elections to stay in line with government officials' efforts to keep people at home and away from large gatherings. But Wisconsin is moving ahead with its scheduled primary next Tuesday.

Polling stations in Wisconsin have been forced to close due to a lack of workers. The National Guard is reportedly sending members to fill the void.

Wed Apr 1, 2020, 07:02 PM
Apr 2020

His enemy is the 'Democratic Establishment', which he conceives as the chief obstacle to left and progressive policies in our country. If it is overthrown, he imagines people like himself, real radical leftists, will become a predominant force in our politics. Then, and only then, 'Bernie' is sure can the Republicans, the cheap thug Trump and the whole christo-fascist right, be effectively opposed. First, the opposition to left revolution, the 'Democratic Establishment', must be broken, however. This is what 'Bernie' campaigns to do, and has campaigned for for nigh on half a century....

"From Bernie’s perspective, dropping out of a race once you have no chance of winning is peculiar behavior that can only be explained by the work of a hidden hand. For most politicians, though, it is actually standard operating procedure. Only Sanders seems to think the normal thing to do once voters have made clear they don’t want to nominate you is to continue campaigning anyway."

"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."

this is exactly why basketball instituted the shot clock. Before then, a team would run out the clock just dribbling the ball around refusing to take a shot and it got boring as all hell.

Of course, teams that delayed the game by playing keepaway were usually UP by 35 points and not DOWN by 35 so I guess Bern ain't much of a sports fan.

Bernie is a selfish old b*stard. It's no wonder he hasn't been able to expand his voter base. Quite the opposite, he hasn't even held on many of the ones who voted for him in 2016. He also has no embarrassment over his failure to bring out the young folks who he said supported his revolution. Clearly rally size is no indicator of polling prowess.
