Joe Biden says family is on board with a 2020 run, he's 'very close' to decision

Former Vice President Joe Biden revealed on Tuesday that his family is on board with a 2020 run and he's "very close" to making a decision in his most direct comments to date about his thinking on jumping into the campaign.

Speaking at the University of Delaware, Biden said that he has discussed a run with his family, including his grandchildren, noting that the "most important people in my life want me to run."
"The first hurdle for me was deciding whether or not I am comfortable taking the family through what would be a very, very difficult campaign. No matter who runs, it's a very difficult campaign," he said, mentioning both the Democratic primary and a possible general election match-up against President Donald Trump.
"I'm certain about where the family is," he added. "But the second piece is that I don't want this to be a fool's errand and I want to make sure that if we do this -- and we're very close to getting to a decision -- that I am fully prepared to do it."
At one point someone in the audience shouted, "Oh God, just say yes!"

Thoughts? Should Uncle Joe go for it? He is definitely a candidate with the most recognition, on the wider, non political nerd stage... he is younger than Bernie but older than the big orange head, and there is a wee bit inside me that says, really? Old white man runs.....against another old white man.... rinse and repeat. Any chance we get to change it up? However, he is marvellous! So there is that.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Among voters who supported Democratic House candidates, 35 percent of those 18 to 34 said they would like Biden to win the party's 2020 presidential nomination, identical to his 35 percent support among Democrats 65 and older, the survey found, according to the Post.

As in 2016, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., got much more support from younger Democrats than seniors — 31 percent versus 5 percent, according to the survey. But he did not match Biden's level of support, even among the youngest voters, the Post noted.

Report: Polling Shows Biden Support for 2020 Cross-Generational

The eventual Democratic nominee would also have to appeal to young voters, who have been the most disaffected by Trump’s presidency — and Biden polls best among voters under the age of 35 with a 60 percent favorability. It also doesn’t hurt that upon Biden’s return to the social platform Instagram late last summer, he drew over one million followers — and we all know social media is key to reaching young people in today’s campaign atmosphere.

Joe Biden is the Democrats' best chance to beat Trump in 2020. No other liberal darling even comes close.

It is a moral imperative that we win in 2020.

In my estimation, Joe Biden would be Trump's worst nightmare as an opponent.

And after he wins, Joe would restore both competence and decency to the office. He's respected by Americans and by our allies.

It would be a very good development.

I really like Joe. But I will like him even more if he picks one of the ladies as his VP. I will still really like him if he picks a young guy as VP as well. Nyet on Gillibrand, maybe on Kobluchar, maybe on Warren, maybe on Harris.

But as someone stated above, we just -have- to win in 2020 in case heart attack or Mueller don't get to cheeto first.

If Kamala Harris is not the nominee and Joe Biden is, I hope he would ask her to be VP. It would be perfect. After he does two terms, Harris would win the white house for two more. In any case, I will of course support whomever ends up getting the nomination but I currently favor Biden.

if he wins the nomination. I believe he'll weather any Anita Hill queries, though some won't accept it. However, I think the odds are in his favor, based on his experience domestically and internationally, and choosing one of our distinguished women candidates will only increase those odds.

I keep having flash backs to the Anita Hill and lying Thomas hearings. The whole thing is recorded.

Traitor Trump was able to get away with the grabbing pussy video because of Putin's manipulation. I'm really not sure Biden will be able to get voted in with the Anita Hill videos running constantly up to the elections.

There were other witnesses that Biden didn't interview. How is that going to play on TV?

They aren't hard to find. I can tell you haven't because that tired RW gotcha conspiracy doesn't match what actually went down in the confirmation hearings, which went on for weeks.
