The clock is moving quickly for Rudy and Donald.

December 8, 2020: The “Safe Harbor” Deadline The U.S. Code(3 U.S.C. §5)provides that if election results are contested in any state, and if the state, prior to election day,has enacted procedures to settle controversies or contests over electors and electoral votes, and if these procedures have been applied, and the results have been determined six days before the electors’ meetings, then these results are considered to be conclusive, and will apply in the counting of the electoral votes. This date, known as the “Safe Harbor” deadline, falls on December 8 in 2020. The governor of any state where there was a contest, and in which the contest was decided according to established state procedures, is required (3 U.S.C. §6) to send a certificate describing the form and manner by which the determination was made to the Archivist as soon as practicable.

It appears that the Governors, Secretarys of State, and State Legislatures have saved our democracy.

And many of them are Republicans.

Not since the days of Goebel has anyone seen a propagandist with the brazen gall of Rudy Guiliani.

He appeared before some of the Arizona State Legislature and was permitted to say all sorts of made-up crapola that he would not dare to say in court. Because he understands when he is under oath.

He told them that the Governor of Arizona would not meet with him. He was an envoy of Donald J Trump.

At almost the same time, Governor Ducey was signing the certification papers for the election in Arizona, declaring Mark Kelly the winner in the Senate race and Joe Biden the winner in the Presidential race. The law in Arizona required Martha McSally to step down on a specific day and the Governor had no choice but to follow the law.

Trump was watching the signing on TV and called the Governor. The Governor had the phone on "vibrate" and laid it aside. If the sound had been on, it would have played "Hail to the Chief", to let him know the call was from the White House. That seems to be the official explanation?

But, from a distance, it appears that there are a few Republicans that are willing to stand up for our country, our Constitution, and our Democracy. They are not part of the cabal of hypocrites in the Republican Party now occupying Washington, DC.

Let us hope that Donald Trump gets the message.

I would like to suggest a summit of Party leaders.

"Talk, talk, talk is better than war, war, war." To paraphrase Winston Churchill.

If our elected leaders are unable to talk with each other, then eventually they come to believe two totally different realities. That seems to be what is happening right now.

Although the votes have been legally verified, some by Republican Secretarys of State and Republican Governors, there are people that believe the lies and propaganda of the wanna-be dictator. It is a tragedy they are unable to see it.

That is why it is important that our Congress, House and Senate, come to some sort of agreement. In order to do that, they have to talk with each other.

Otherwise, they are of no use to our democracy. They may as well go home. They are a disgrace to our democracy.

They have nothing.

Except baloney and horseshit.

They are lying their asses off.

Throwing everything against the wall to see what might stick - the FBI and DOJ helped Victor Chavez steal votes for Biden and sent them to Spain to be counted. How many people are truly buying this crap? Do they not believe the Republican Governors and Secretarys of State that have verified the votes?

They have fallen prey to the "fake news". Tell me this is not 1984.

Overthrow the democratically elected candidates and put in a coup. Maybe the Supreme Court will agree with him?

And if they don't, they will only be part of the fraud conspiracy against Donald Trump.

Does Mike Pence have plans for a political future?

Would he like to run for President in 2024?

Or maybe run for Governor of Indiana again?

If he does have any plans for a future in politics, there is one act that he must guard against.

He cannot pardon Donald Trump. That would likely destroy any hopes of a political comeback.

The Political Landscape Has Changed

The Democratic and Republican Parties of 2016 no longer exist. They have transformed themselves into new Parties.

Many in the old Parties have formed an unholy alliance with their former political rivals. The Lincoln Project is only the most obvious to come to mind. But there are millions of others that have switched their loyalties, or are in the process of switching.

Will the Parties change to meet the new realities? That is an open question. Most of the "Lincoln Project" types that voted for Joe Biden, because they simply could not stomach Donald Trump, are still very much conservatives at heart. Will they be accepted into the new Democratic Party?

Conversely, many working-class Democrats were glamoured by Donald Trump. They left the Democratic Party to vote for him. This actually began in 2016 when the same voters that voted for Obama could not bring themselves to vote for Hillary Clinton and switched to Donald Trump. It continued on a larger scale in 2020.

What happens if the Parties cannot adapt to these new voters? Do they withdraw and form their own Parties? Only the future will tell.

We assume that all the 74 million votes that Trump received were bedrock Republicans but it is very likely that there were several million former Democrats in that total. Likewise, we assume that the 80 million votes that Joe Biden received were all Democrats. However, we know that there were many Republicans that voted for Joe Biden. But we don't yet know the total numbers that switched Parties?

What will the new Parties look like in the future? With Democrats and former moderate Republicans forming one coalition and Trump and his unorthodox non-partisans forming the opposition Party, it will likely take a while for the water to clear up and to understand the new political realities, in my opinion.

The sedition continues...

Are lies and misstatements automatically seditious?

Only if they are made with the intent to tear down our government.

==============
The Google dictionary defines sedition as:

se·di·tion
/səˈdiSH(ə n/
noun: sedition; plural noun: seditions

conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch.

===============

I would argue that the speech and conduct of Donald J Trump is seditious.
