Donald Trump was the tip of the spear, the enabler, the chief conspirator and the beating heart of

the failed insurrection. The testimony before the J6 Committee has more than proved this to be a fact. In the face of all of this, Trump continues to foment insurrection and will continue to do so until he faces the justice he so richly deserves. This country will survive the indictment, conviction and sentencing of Donald Trump. It will not survive doing nothing to bring him to justice. A couple of thoughts:

I am not salivating to see this fat old man serve actual prison time.....I would be happy to see him sentenced to many long years of home confinement with no access to the internet, a substantial forfeiture of his wealth and monitoring of his phone calls, correspondence and visitors. His lovely wife is welcome to join him in home confinement under the same conditions or she can reside elsewhere. I would allow him to have unlimited food and free access to his golden toilets. One of the reasons that I'm advocating this is because we, as taxpayers, would spend an obscene amount of money to house him in some government penal country club. Why not have this pestilence spend his own money.

I fondly hope that there are a few good men and women left in the Justice Department to walk out en masse if Garland doesn't indict this rotten bastard and his henchmen.

Schools, churches, a synagogue, a concert, a marathon, malls, a supermarket and now,

a 4th of July parade. Perpetrated, in large part, by young white men, enabled by the Republican Party and blessed by the Supreme Court of the United States. I'm afraid that the rot in this country goes very deep.

It seems to me that Putin may have an unlimited supply of fighters, incompetent as they may be. We know that, to Putin, human beings are fungible. Putin's choices are limited... it's either to throw more bodies into this war or nukes. Your thoughts?

I just got my fuel oil bill.

It was more than twice what I paid last month for the same amount of oil. I am on a fixed income so this kind of an increase, if it continues, will blow a huge hole in my budget for the year. the coming warm weather months will make it somewhat easier, but I will begin to feel the hit again just in time for the mid-term elections. I am a loyal democrat, always have been, always will be, but there are many folks out there who are not and they will vote with their pocketbooks. Please don't give me a lecture about being a good American and supporting Ukraine. When folks have to chose between eating decently and keeping warm or filling their prescriptions, they will vote with that in mind.

You know what's amusing to me? Joe Biden is walking into the history books in his usual calm

and collected way and these Republicans are running around with their hair on fire over baby books. Take a step back and look at how puny they look and then take another step back and realize that not one of them has spoken up to support him during this perilous time for, not just America, not just for Ukraine or Europe, but for the world. Pathetic.

I strongly suggest watching Judge Brown Jackson's hearing. For those, like me, who

were reluctant to watch it because of the abuse we were afraid she might take at the hands of the Republican thugs, I can tell you that she is exceptional. I am very sure that she will run circles around those folks in the calmest, most intelligent way. She is also very natural and strikes me as someone I'd enjoy as a friend or colleague.
