Glad you made it here too!!! I'm a lifelong Dem but I found this place in 2001 after feeling as though we'd been robbed the previous November with bush v Gore, and also feeling as though I was completely alone and isolated in my feelings. Nobody else felt the way I did about our precious little mustn't-criticize-his-lordship or openly discuss the many things he was already fucking up. I found my way here and learned I was very wrong in my feelings of isolation. There were tens of thousands of people who felt the same way - here AND elsewhere! It grew to many hundreds of thousands and then millions!
All through the last decade this place was an oasis in the middle of a VERY vast, parched, barren, inhospitable desert.
Still misleading. WILLFULLY misleading.
That speaks louder than any hair-splitting - board-certified or licensed or whatever (at least to me). More evidence of how duplicitous and sneaky-ass he is. And that he sees regulations and specifications as being some annoyance merely to get around so you can do whatever you damn well please. Well, THAT, immediately there, is reason enough to keep somebody like him out of the White House! Would YOU go to a doctor who just declared himself board-certified? Would you trust your vision, your hearing, your general health, to somebody like that? I wouldn't, in a BILLION years!!! I might as well declare myself a decent surgeon because I know how to embroider and cut my own meat.

Thank you for your sensitivity. This was such a no-win situation for SO many. Including folks like you who went in with all sincerity.
Seems to me MANY of us just simply don't want to believe that our leaders are evil, or have ulterior motives with which we're uncomfortable or don't share. After all, our country voted for them (well enough of them that it was close enough to steal, in bush/cheney's case). It's hard to accept that our country actually did that. That we got rolled. That we bought in. That we swallowed it whole. And that it took SO DAMN LONG for many of us to wake up again. Some of us - too many, unfortunately - remain hard-asleep.
Heck, those of us who did protest and did try to stop it sure didn't get very far on our end, did we?

I remember hearing, years ago - I think during the Clinton years - some republi-CON Congresswoman who asserted that the good thing about their side and the reason why they were supposedly so appealing was "'cause we FIGHT!" And I thought - yeah, girlfriend, pretty much. Aren't you just something! That's all you do. Fight. Just a bunch of belligerent fucks endlessly trying to stir things up and pick fights. That's all you want to do. Fight. BORING!!! SO tiresome!!! All you ever seem interested in is fighting. Fighting, fighting, fighting. It's always gotta be about fighting with you, isn't it? Boring, stupid, and tiresome.
You trust the republi-CONS and this is what you get. You get stuck out in the middle of the ocean with no wind in your sails and no oars to row with, and no radio to call for help. Because you didn't bother. You just knew better, didn't you? You weren't gonna need that because you were just gonna be fine and in control and everything was gonna go your twisted way and some how be wonderful. It was all about starting another fight. PICKING another fight. You were just gonna fight some. And then do some fighting.
